ADDRESSING YOUR UNIQUE NEEDS IN UNIQUe WAYS

1:1 Therapy sessions

These are individual therapy sessions, where we work together, 1-on-1; they are typically up-to 60-minutes in length and are an opportunity to address a range of challenges or simply work on your development and growth. I will use a range of therapeutic approaches to support you, including solution-focused, cognitive-behavioural, and mindfulness-based therapies. Therapy is goal-directed and strength-based. Therapy is not solely about fixing what is broken but can also be an opportunity to make a conscious effort to improve yourself through 1-on-1 support, guidance, and accountability. These sessions are typically covered by insurance plans.

What to Expect

Homework: We grow, develop, overcome challenges, and attain our goals through consistent effort and action. Homework acts as a bridge between sessions that can facilitate progress even while outside of the therapy room.

Emotions: You will likely feel a variety of emotions, from happiness, excitement, surprise, and joy to overwhelm, confusion, frustration, and worry. This is a normal and natural part of therapy. Therapy is an inherently vulnerable process, and our emotions are there to let us know what is important. Emotions are an integral part of therapy, embrace them.

Accountability: The work you do in therapy is meaningful and important, and I am here to act as a support in overcoming your challenges and attaining your goals, even when things get hard. I am here to act as an external source of accountability, when you need it, and to help foster the development of your internal (self) accountability. Through consistent action, even in the face of difficulties, you will develop your grit, resilience, and perseverance.

Change: Therapy is an ever-evolving experience and process; as such, it is important to accept that as therapy progresses the focus, challenges, and goals may change. This is normal, and we will navigate this together to make sure that we are addressing your concerns and accomplishing the goals you want.

Cost
